Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (15) @ Warner Village Cinema,
Purley Way

Situated in the Valley Park Leisure Complex, near Ikea, Warner Village Cinema is easily accessible from Croydon Town centre. There is plenty of parking for those that drive or otherwise, a selection of public transport, ensuring that the majority can get there with relative ease, (see bottom of page for details).

All the Warner Village cinemas are fully accessible for the disabled, also catering for the hard of hearing. Tickets can be booked in advance by phone or on the Internet. There is, however, a booking fee for this service.

Today's multiplex cinemas offer a combination of luxury, technology and experience. At Warner Village, Purley Way there are eight screens with a total capacity of 2050. The stadium type seating allows for a good view of the screen and the seats are equipped with cup holder armrests to keep your drink safe, (although not if you get a large - they don't fit!). Digital sound, as well as the most advanced projection, allow you to get the most from your cinema experience.

A visit to Warner Village is a good night or day out for all the family, with a choice of restaurants and other facilities close at hand. With 8 screens there is always a wide range of films showing, something to suit everybody and since the start of the holidays there has been an abundance of kids films and family blockbusters.

Arriving in Croydon on 1st August was Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, back again almost 20 years since it first hit the big screen. With Arnold Schwarzenegger, of course, playing a somewhat outdated cyborg, sent back through time to protect John Connor (Nick Stahl), from the new sophisticated killing machine, the 'TX' played by Kristanna Loken.

Although almost a rerun of the previous two, this film is packed with action sequences and special effects, which the audience has come to expect and demand. Terminator 3 does the job and is a highly entertaining film, however, it would be nice to actually get to Armageddon and the war with machines eventually……………but I have a feeling the war with machines has already started - if my PC is anything to go by……………….
